Vinyasa Flow Class, Oct 3rd, 2011

October 4, 2011

Surprise! Welcome new members Brian, Emily, Ally, and Lauren tonight to CPY. September was a quiet month for Monday night classes with on average 4-5 yogis. Last night we hit a whomping 12 and the energy was really swirling. When this many yogis come together, I always notice a significant difference in the energy,  intent, and attention in the room. I think the more yogis that surround you during your practice, the more support and encouragement you have to explore, play, and “work in”.

Thanks to Jo, Michele and Nina for your 3 requests: core, hips, and upper back. We moved mindfully throw some flowing shoulder openers, lots of interlaced forward folds, and then sat into our hips with some deep lunging. Intermixed were some playful (and sensation stirring core exercises – Thanks Jo!) And I’m so glad to welcome Jeanne from GW to our family at CPY!

For a core workout you can do at home, here’s a quick and effective 6 minute youtube core routine I taped for a friend (not too high tech! and dont mind the front side).

Dont forget we’ve got events coming up:

Restorative Yoga
Friday, Oct 14th, 7pm (my Mom’s bday!)
$20 in advance/$25 at the door

Mixtape Yoga (Halloween themed?)
Friday, Oct 28th, 7pm
$20 in advance/$25 at the door

See you on the mat!
And email me your questions, comments, class requests in the meantime.
Rebecca
