Vinyasa Yoga Class Aug 1, 2011

Really nice small group tonight – 4 yogis. August tends to beg smaller classes while folks are away on vacation. Tonight we got to really focus in the lifting up of the chest and engaging of the inner thighs in Shoulderstand. We spent the first half of class gently opening up the upper back and again playing with a fun circular vinyasa, or mandala, so we could really open up across the chest and come to the wall for a supported Salambha Sarvangasana. We had a new yogi join us tonight, Josh, who said he’s only done some videos at home  – but my gosh he had me fooled! He followed the sequences really well and had beautiful form. I was really proud of Michele and Leila who both really made progress opening up in the upper back, and Jo was able to self adjust her thoracic alignment in downward dog. Impressive.
